When I used the aneros successfully prior, it had been about a week as well, but I had also been edging every day (probably 30 mins each day) and I had just finished edging for about an hour. I agree that time from last orgasm is definitely a factor, but I have also read and found that how close to blue balls from edging, is also a good indicator of success. Above all else, playing with an aneros or some other specific prostate massager is the key.
